I've lived in Newberg since I was 5, and growing up I would always visit Ixtapa with my mom and family. The workers there are so kind, and are very set on making sure you are happy with your food! The environment is nice, calm, and very relaxing. Their food has always been great, and the chips and salsa you get before your meal is absolutely delicious! I have a lot of great memories from going here as a kid, and I still love going there now, Ixtapa will forever hold a special place in my heart. Love you guys!
We've been on the hunt for a "favorite" Mexican restaurant since moving into the area five years ago. Ixtapa has been our favorite so far! Very friendly service, great salsa, big portions served hot. The interior seemed friendly and inviting. I liked how they had decorated for Christmas. Not sure why it's so hard to find good Mexican food in the PDX area but it's been disappointing. At least Ixtapa is someplace we can go to know we'll get some solid, tasty food.
Came in hungry, left stuffed. Can not express how fast they delivered chips and salsa to our table. Highly recommend coming here with any size of party (we had 6) and they will still deliver fast customer service.

The food was authentic to Ixtapa and delicious albeit different. For example the chile rellenos was slices of poblano pepper filled with cheese slices and cooked in egg (not a whole poblano and not dipped and fried in egg whites as I'm used to). The service was great (super sweet servers) and the ambiance was fitting of a Mom and Pop shop. The place was recommended to us by a local and that is who kept streaming in so I think that is a pretty good sign of tasty food oh and delicious margaritas!!
